What to expect on our Snorkeling Trips.

This private snorkeling charter in Puerto Rico begins around 8:30 AM with flexible departure times arranged for each group. Upon arrival, guests receive a full safety briefing and snorkel gear orientation before heading to the water.

We make short runs to the best reef systems on Puerto Rico’s west coast, maximizing time in the water. This private tour is designed for families and small groups up to 6 guests, offering a fully customizable snorkeling experience.

Guests can choose reef locations, number of stops, and onboard music preferences. We provide all premium snorkeling equipment including masks, fins, and snorkels from Scubapro, Cressi, Mares, and Hollis, with optional spearfishing gear available.

Trips last approximately 5 hours, with extended options available. Light refreshments are included, and guests may bring additional food and drinks.

Puerto Rico offers a wide variety of world-class snorkeling opportunities, with Simply Caught Charters primarily operating along the island’s west coast. This region provides quick access to some of the best reef systems in the Caribbean, including Tourmaline Reef, Abrir La Sierra, and Desecheo Island, all reachable within approximately a 30-minute boat ride from Rincón.

Along the coastline, Steps Beach is a local favorite and protected marine preserve known for healthy coral growth and abundant tropical fish. Just south of Steps, shallow waters hold historic Spanish cannons in approximately 23 feet of water, offering a unique snorkeling experience that combines marine life and history.

When wind conditions change, Simply Caught has the ability to trailer the boat to access multiple coastlines, allowing us to consistently find calm, clear snorkeling conditions. The northern coast features dramatic cliffs, rock formations, and coral systems, with Shacks Beach serving as a popular launch point and home to the famous Blue Hole.

On the southern coast of Puerto Rico, snorkelers can explore seagrass flats, channels, and mangrove ecosystems, where sightings of West Indian manatees are common in certain areas.

Across the island’s diverse waters, Puerto Rico is known for its rich marine biodiversity. It is not uncommon to encounter sea turtles, reef fish, jacks, parrotfish, barracuda, angelfish, trumpetfish, queen triggerfish, tarpon, moray eels, and blue tangs, among many other species. In some areas, snorkelers may see 20 or more sea turtles in a single outing, making Puerto Rico one of the most productive snorkeling destinations in the Caribbean.
